How we work

Two steps, both agreed before they begin.

The first step tells you what you owe and what can change. The second carries the plan through the year, onto the return, and into the rest of your financial life.

Step one

The Tax Position Analysis

Before we quote an engagement or suggest a strategy, we establish your position: how your income is taxed today, what tax is already built into what you own, and where there is room to improve it.

A fixed fee, agreed before we start, and delivered in two to three weeks. It stands on its own. You are under no obligation to continue.

What we review
  • Your recent federal and state returns, line by line
  • Each entity against the income it actually holds
  • Withholding, estimated payments, and payroll tax accuracy
  • Unrealized gains, basis, and depreciation across what you own
  • Carryforwards, suspended losses, and prior year exposure
What you receive
  • A projection of this year's liability, before any recommendation
  • Each opportunity quantified and ranked by net benefit, capital required, and risk
  • A first year view of tax, capital, and timing
  • A written quote for the annual engagement, with no obligation to accept it

Step two

The Annual Engagement

One relationship covers the year. Planning, implementation, filing, and access sit under a single fee, because splitting them apart is what leaves people without advice for most of the year.

Planning and implementation

Strategies selected against your facts, then carried out with your attorney, lender, and other advisors so they exist on paper before the year closes.

Compliance and filing

Your returns and your entities' returns, prepared in house so that what was planned is exactly what gets filed.

Substantiation

Written support for each material position, grounded in the Code, the regulations, and the case law, kept on file before anyone asks for it.

Standing advisory

Quarterly reviews and direct access for anything tied to your plan, so questions are answered while the decision is still open.

Wealth coordination

When recovered dollars need a home, the investment and insurance work is coordinated in the same conversation through affiliated Trinity Wealth Group firms, so every decision is made knowing how it lands on the return.

Trinity Tax Strategies, LLC does not provide investment advice and does not sell securities or insurance. Those services are provided by affiliated firms under common ownership, under their own agreements. Clients are under no obligation to use them, and doing so results in additional compensation to those firms.

Technology

Modern tools, so the numbers are never stale.

Secure client portal

Documents, signatures, organizers, and finished returns in one place, available from any device.

Projections that move

Your projection is updated as the year changes and reviewed with you each quarter.

One record

Planning, filing, and coordination draw on the same information, so nothing is entered twice or lost between people.

Substantiation

Every recommendation stands on the law.

Before a strategy reaches you, it has been researched against the Internal Revenue Code, the Treasury Regulations, and the positions the Tax Court and the IRS have actually taken. If we cannot cite the authority, we do not recommend it.

Code and Treasury Regulations

Each position is traced to the statute and to the regulations that interpret it. Where the regulations are proposed, temporary, or silent, we say so, and we weigh the position accordingly rather than assume the answer.

Tax Court and IRS positions

We read the cases. Tax Court, appellate, and Supreme Court decisions, together with Revenue Rulings, Revenue Procedures, and published IRS guidance, tell us how a strategy has held up when it was tested. We plan around what has been decided, not what has been marketed.

Documented before you act

Every material position is written up in a memorandum in your file, with the authority cited, before you rely on it. The standard we plan to is substantial authority under Treasury Regulation §1.6662-4(d), the standard the Code sets for penalty protection on a return position.

Trinity Tax Strategies is an Enrolled Agent practice governed by Treasury Circular 230, which requires written tax advice to rest on reasonable factual and legal assumptions and to consider all relevant law and authority.

How we bill

We do not bill by the hour.

Every engagement uses value based pricing. The fee is set by the scope of the work and what it is worth to you, not by the minutes it takes. It is agreed before anything begins and billed monthly across the year.

Advice is most valuable just before a decision, and an hourly meter discourages exactly that call. With one agreed fee, calls, emails, and document requests are simply part of the work.

The question that goes unasked is usually the one that costs the most.

How value based pricing works

Priced on scope, not time

The fee reflects what your situation requires: the number of entities, the complexity of the returns, and the planning decisions ahead. It is quoted once we understand the work, and it does not rise because you called.

Agreed before we begin

You see one annual fee before the engagement starts, billed monthly. There are no invoices for phone calls, no charges for emails, and no surprise at year end.

Aligned with your result

An hourly firm earns more when the work takes longer. Our fee is fixed, so the only way we earn it is by doing the work well: finding what your current approach misses and putting it in place.

Billed by the hour
  • The meter starts when you call
  • Every email carries a charge
  • Questions get saved for later
  • Advice arrives after the decision
The Trinity engagement
  • One fee, agreed in advance
  • Calls and emails are part of the work
  • You call when something changes
  • Advice arrives while the decision is open
